The Temperatures Are Heating Up

As the outside temperatures rise to the 90's, everyone is trying to stay cool within their air conditioned buildings, pools, and beaches. The temperatures also effect wildlife animals. They try to locate shelter that is cooler and out of the sunlight.

Raccoons, squirrels, bats, and mice find shelter in buildings. These buildings can be a home, business, or shed to name a few. The attic of a home or business is a great location. There's shade, cooler temperatures and even a food supply. Bats are known to also reside in attics for the same reason.

Groundhogs dig tunnels underground that can burrow under structures such as a fence, home, or shed. These tunnels can burrow five feet under the earth's surface which gives these pest cooler temperatures. However, the tunnels can extend 45 feet out with the animal not know what exactly it is digging these tunnels under.

Foxes look for cool locations where they can build their den. These places are usually near woods since there's plenty of shade. However, these pests don't care if the dens are close to a home or business.

If you've seen a wildlife nuisance animal, give Elite Wildlife Removal a call at 804-867-7184. We would be more than happy to assist with all your nuisance pests needs.
