Love Given By Unwanted Pests
Valentine's Day is now over for 2019. Special things happen on this day. There are marriage proposals, some people have cards, candy, and/or flowers waiting for them. This day is to be the most romantic day of the year. Not only are people getting gifts from their loved ones, but they are also getting gifts from unwanted pests too. Nuisance wildlife pests leave unwanted situations from their invasion within our life.
There are many animals within our area who mate during this time frame; however, squirrels and raccoons are two animals in which reproduces the most in our area. Squirrels mate two times per year with their first liter born between February and March usually around 40 days after mating.
Then there are raccoons. These pests mate between January and March and female raccoons have her kits usually 65 days after mating. Both the raccoon and squirrel will locate an area which is secluded and will give them easy access to a food source. An attic is the perfect location.
These pests will tear open soffit, vent, and/or vinyl siding of your home to get into the attic space. Once inside they need material to make their nests so the insulation will be torn into and any type of storage materials that are in the attic can be used to help make that nest. The wires within the area can be chewed into which can start a fire. Not only does the insulation help with their nest building but it can also be used for their own personal bathroom.
Raccoons can carry diseases and their feces can be fatal to humans if it is breathed for a lengthy set of time. Raccoons and squirrels both can carry mites and fleas which can enter the rest of the home. Any quests that enter your home can smell the stench coming from these nuisance animals too.
